A strange event occurred en route to a demonstration.
You may be wondering... How would American life change if, in an instant, the
issue of race, by individual, became a matter of random assignment? Same age,
gender, job, and family- the only variable subject to instant change is color of skin.
The demographics remain the same but enough people said ‘race don’t matter’ so
‘poof’ it happened without notice.
Thats how it's been done before you were
even knee-high to an amoeba. LOL
Pause for a moment before you look in the mirror, to ponder what might be. Does it matter to you the color
of skin you will see? How about your family, what will they see? What are the odds they’ll be like you- if
‘like you’ is to share well,,the same color of skin?
Wow I see what happened for you, when I look in the mirror what will I think of
what happened for me? What are the odds I’ll look the same? Well that depends of
course from where I started. But I’m in America now and 'race don't matter'
What would be lost? What could be gained? If you liked who you were, you were probably okay
with who I was… Where we came from tells us both how we got where we ‘are’. It’s not going
back to admit where we are, but is ‘here’ back ‘there’ or moving forward?...
But this ain’t your granddaddy’s America…then again, it never really was. It just looked that way on TV,
magazines and books because of who was holding the camera. But, now things have changed, and in an
instant. Before the day goes far along you will meet the 'person of color'- if it isn’t already you.
First people seen, walking down the street, 4 young lads all of whom are
white. Subconsciously pondered, the math is done. The exact odds of this
random occurrence, well few would know with certainty but...it could happen.
All Americans did once
share like hue
you are quite right
but, it was long before me...
long before you…
and it sure as schizzle
4 young lads, walking down the street, 4 young lads all of whom are black.
Subconsciously pondered, the math is done. The exact odds of this random
occurrence?... Well few would know with certainty but… this can't be…
Subconsciously pondered, the math is done...The exact odds of this random occurrence? Well, few would know with certainty but virtually all would sense this to be very rare
What will you see when you look in the mirror? More likely then other, you will be
white. If you already are, should not you, not want to be? If you are not, are you
drawn to any sort of perception that life may somehow be easier if you suddenly
It’s not that they’re not-white-I gotta lot of friends who are black- it’s just that…well, what are the odds?
Subconsciously pondered, the math is done. The exact odds of this as a random occurrence? Well, few
would know with certainty but virtually all would sense this to be very rare.
Don’t look too close...
cuz it would seem an affiliation based upon race...
And in this country...
Race Don’t Matter’
To The Street
Out the door, and to the street…the next person encountered, better chance then other they’ll be white. Not
that there’s anything wrong with that, I’m just sayin’, it’s the math talkin now, don’t blame me.
