All Things Gay
Although few in numbers, there are those who chose a 'counter-culture' lifestyle.
Rarer still, is the individual who chooses to be ostracized and at times reviled.  The
numbers in the latter case would not register as a percentage...And, in this society,
those 'who do' would be held to limited accountability for their actions.
Very few would choose a life subject to persecution at any level of
intensity.  Yet, in contemporary society,  the Gay individual will
experience some form of persecution/discrimination likely countless times
throughout life....
It seems likely that a fair number of gay people would select to be something other then
gay if orientation was merely a matter of choice.  Where true, such would be similar to an
individual preferring to be of a race other then his/her own;   Both are profoundly sad
propositions to ponder.
It is broadly understood that 5-10 percent of humanity is born gay.  If that seems not
plausible then the belief, by default, is a conviction that 1 in 10-20 humans chooses a
lifestyle knowing that many will criticize- some vehemently.  Some will find  the imprint of
social conditioning so powerful they will never be able behold the individual or,
acknowledge a powerful love is the bridge that binds the gay couple.
It is pure myth that the gay person wants anything
other then that desired by heterosexuals.
